Festivals des Rameurs

In 1967, the parish organized a special event to celebrate the Centennial of the Confederacy. This event, the crossing of the Bay of Chaleur in a rowing boat, was such a success that it was decided to hold it annually. In 1968, the Festival des Rameurs started. In addition to the 35-km (22 miles) rowing competition race on Chaleur Bay aboard whaler boats, the festival now offers a lot of entertainment and activities. A not-to-be-missed event every year on the second weekend of July.
