Campobello Oceanfront Cottages are located 2 km (1 mi.) south of beautiful East Quoddy Head Lighthouse, New Brunswick's most photographed lighthouse. All three cottages are secluded and private, nestled in the woods on a cliff overlooking Passamaquoddy Bay, where one can often see whales, porpoises, seals, osprey and eagles in front of the cottages. Each cottage has a deck for sunbathing and alfresco dining. The Sea Urchin has a screened-in tree house and its own private sandy beach where you can search for sea glass. The Whale of a View is slightly larger and has a breathtaking view. It features an electrified, screened-in gazebo with deck and is perched on the side of the cliff directly above the water, offering stunning daytime and sunset panoramas. All cottages are fully furnished and equipped with modern amenities. The Sea Urchin sleeps 6 (plus 3 in the tree-house), the Whale of a View sleeps 4 (plus more in the gazebo) and the 2-room Periwinkle Cottage sleeps 2 (plus 1 on a cot). At low tide, people walk across the ocean floor to tour the lighthouse, a popular spot for whale sightings. Catch a whale-watching boat at Head Harbour 1 km (0.6 mi.) down the road or watch the fishing boats come and go. Campobello offers many lovely beaches for beachcombing and picnicking, spectacular hiking, a beautiful 9-hole golf course overlooking the ocean, and Roosevelt-Campobello International Park with its beaches, trails and tours of the Roosevelt summer cottage and adjacent museum. Campobello Island is a beautiful, unspoiled spot to relax and take in nature at its very best.
