The Carleton County military museum has on display many artifacts as well as uniforms, helmets, badges, military models built from scratch, flags and more from pre First World War to modern times. Learn the lineage of the Carleton light infantry to the Carleton York Regiment and regiments across New Brunswick. Owned and operated by Carleton County military historian Aaron Bouma, the museum, opened since November 2023, has been expanding ever since.

The centre consists of three buildings — a Georgian style house built by the Bulmer family circa 1790, a house built in the Greek revival style in 1840 by Boultenhouse, and the Anderson Octagonal House circa 1855.

Southwest Head Lighthouse

Originally built in 1880, this active lighthouse was replaced with a concrete structure in 1989. You can access dramatic hiking trails from this area, but please be careful. The cliff area is dangerous and requires caution. This is a definite ''must-see'' on Grand Manan Island!
