Ledges… Place des Pionniers

Travel through time and get to know the history of the people who built this region at the crossroads of New Brunswick, Maine and Quebec. The Place des Pionniers (Pioneers Place) is a small-scale reproduction of the village of Saint-François, formerly known as Ledges. Visitors love to stroll amongst the miniature reproduction buildings, including the family home, the church, the farm, the post office, the school and the general store, to name a few! Beresford Beach

Beresford Beach, an unsupervised saltwater beach with washrooms, picnic tables, canteen, a park, toys for children and an outdoor stage, is the perfect place to swim, relax and bask in the sun. Cap-Pelé (Cap-Acadie)

With tall sea grass swaying gently across long sandy beaches and the brightly painted fishing boats bobbing alongside the wooden wharves, Cap-Pelé paints a picture seaside postcard of a colourful Acadian village. Cap-Pelé is North America's largest exporter of smoked herring, producing some of the most scrumptious bloaters on the continent. If you don't believe it, step inside a smokehouse and taste for yourself! Of course, being this close to the sea, herring is not all that's on the menu. Savour the flavour of fresh, juicy scallops or steamed lobster.

Blueberry Hill Nature Preserve

Blueberry Hill Nature Preserve is located in the city of Saint John, on the border with the neighbouring town of Grand Bay-Westfield. Conserved by the Nature Trust of New Brunswick, this nature preserve is one of the last undeveloped properties in the area and supports a variety of ecosystems. Blueberry Hill Nature Preserve features 2 km (1.2 mi) of looping trail systems for visitors to explore. The trail leads you across Henderson Brook on a walking bridge where you can stop and take in views of the wetland. There are two trails: Stevens Loop Trail and Hamm Loop Trail.

Sandy Beach

Cape Enrage Light Station

This lighthouse was built in 1838 atop 46-m (150-ft.) cliffs. It is still in use today, sounding the foghorn and beaming light into the Bay of Fundy. Today, the station is operated and maintained by the Cape Enrage Interpretive and Adventure Centre. Try the zipline and rappeling experiences, enjoy a unique menu at the keeper's house restaurant, and browse the shop for items from local artisans.
