Aitkens Pewter

The Aitkens Pewter story began in Fredericton in 1972. Martin Aitken, then 17, had apprenticed with well-known pewterer Dr. Ivan Crowell and set up his own shop in the city of Fredericton. His father, Philip, joined him the following year and the Aitkens 'touchmark', the triple A in a circle, had its debut.Four decades later, that touchmark still represents the quality and craftsmanship that goes into every piece we make. Aitkens Pewter has steadily expanded its line of handcrafted bowls, mugs, tea services and other items of fine pewter to meet contemporary demands while at the same time maintaining the timeless look of classic beauty and style. From the little studio on Charlotte Street, Aitkens Pewter has grown to include studio stores in Halifax and Saint John, as well as a studio store and workshop in Fredericton.
