Callanders Beach

Salt and fresh water beaches, unsupervised, with washrooms and shorebird areas in the Kouchibouguac National Park. This is one of two excellent beaches within this spectacular national park. Callanders overlooks the warm water of the lagoons and is a great place for a leisurely swim and a picnic lunch. Of course there's more to do than just swimming! Bring your binoculars and try to spot some of the 225 bird species in the area. You'll see osprey, eagles, geese, the endangered Piping plover and many more. Park interpreters welcome all comers to guided nature walks. For the more adventurous, there is a “Voyageur canoe” tour. Hiking and cycling trails, canoeing and kayaking excursions, all invite you to expend a little energy - you'll be rewarded with an incredible natural experience.
