Elmhurst Outdoors is a small family run operation that promotes education and recreation in the outdoors. We provide various fun-filled opportunities throughout the year that allow visitors to enjoy the woods and waters of New Brunswick while learning about our heritage and environment.
In spring, Elmhurst Outdoors bustles with activity with their Maple Sugar Bush Tour & Pancakes. Take a walk through time on our maple syrup guided interpretive hike. Enjoy a tree-tapping demonstration, visit the evaporating room and delight in the traditional treat of taffy-on-snow. Many make their visit complete with a stop at our lodge where they enjoy a delicious meal of home-made pancakes (made with local Speerville flour), locally made Degenhardt sausage, Gig's baked beans, and, of course, pure maple syrup!
During the summer, we take advantage of the warm weather and water by offering canoe and kayak instruction on the scenic Belleisle Bay. These courses meet provincial and national standards. In fall, guests can revel in the colours of autumn during our guided hikes and guided canoe outings which are always followed by scrumptious seasonal, local, home cooked luncheons.
When the snow flies, cross-country skiers can enjoy our groomed trails; both classic and skate skiing. For those who are looking for something at a slower pace, our snowshoe trails provide a perfect escape in the winter woods. And there are always those who just want to stop by for some hearty homemade soup and bread, or Denise's decadent chocolate chip cookies. Our cozy lodge is available for meeting space and meals for up to 60 people.
