Seascape Kayak Tours Inc.

Immerse yourself in one of the richest marine ecosystems in the world – right here at Seascape's home base on Deer Island, the starting point for most of our summer trips. Paddling out from our protected harbour, you're sure to see bald eagles, harbour seals, harbour porpoise and whales. This area, known as a world-class biodiversity hotspot, allows you to experience the ebb and flow of the tremendous Bay of Fundy tides and to enjoy the rugged coastline, secluded islands, abundant marine life, lighthouses and quaint fishing villages. Seascape's half-day and full-day trips are designed to expose paddlers of any experience level to the biodiversity of the Bay of Fundy's unique ocean ecosystem. Any of Seascape's trips can be customized to fit your schedule, paddling experience level and interest or focus, such as photography, marine mammal observation or birdwatching. Private trips are available and full-day organic lunch menus can be customized to suit your interests with advance notice. Trip price includes a comprehensive orientation to sea-kayaking skills, and a guide with years of experience (one guide per 4-5 people) and wilderness first-aid certification. Price also includes a gourmet lunch, state-of-the-art kayaks, kayak equipment such as paddles and PFDs (personal floatation devices) and emergency/safety gear. The founder of Seascape Kayak Tours, Bruce Smith, has committed himself to being a sustainable kayak tour operator for 18 years, working in the ecotourism industry in Canada, USA, Mexico and Costa Rica. Seascape was awarded the New Brunswick Department of Environment's prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010 for environmental leadership, and was selected in 2009 as one of 3 finalists for the Parks Canada Sustainable Tourism Award. Seascape is a member of the Adventure Travel Trade Association, The International Ecotourism Society and Sustainable Travel International
