Highlights of our rich local history are represented by impressive murals, painted on walls throughout the beautiful downtown areas of Sussex and Sussex Corner, by world-renowned mural artists. The first 11 murals were painted in the summer of 2006, with 15 more created during the summer of 2007. The Sussex Mural Project is an initiative of the Kings East Development Partnership Inc. (KEDP), a non-profit organization that strives for economic development for the Sussex area. The KEDP consists of representatives of the town of Sussex, the Local Service Districts, the Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Business Association and the Kings County Tourism Association. Be sure to look us up during your next visit to our area and take a stroll through our streets lined with history. Sussex is centrally located in the rolling hills and wide-open spaces of southern New Brunswick and definitely worth a stop! We invite you to be part of this unique experience and look forward to welcoming you to bustling Sussex, the Mural Capital of Atlantic Canada, where we have added beauty to the prettiest town in New Brunswick.Mural Walking Guides (self tour) are available at various outlets in Town for a cost of $2.00. All monies collected are used to maintain the murals year-to-year.
