Bertrand (Rivière-du-Nord)

Bertrand is a charming and bustling Acadian village located in the northeastern part of New Brunswick. Surrounded with nature, the village also offers a variety of entertaining activities during the summer and throughout the year.

Bertrand and the surrounding area is known as a natural location for birdwatching. Many species of birds can be viewed here, including Bald eagles. Spot one for yourself at our special birdwatching station, located at the mouth of the Caraquet River, where it empties into Caraquet Bay. Cycling enthusiasts can access the Acadian Peninsula cycling/hiking trail from our town, where you will find vibrant natural scenery, up close and personal. Explore the trail as it meanders through forests and by the sea. Dine al fresco along the way, where covered picnic tables provide the perfect place for a lunch.

Travel back in time and discover old ‘Acadie' at the Village Historique Acadien, one of the province's award-winning attractions, renowned for the authentic character of its re-creation of Acadian history.
