Village of Plaster Rock

Located at the western side of the Appalachian Mountain Range, peace and tranquility abound in the beautiful area surrounding our town. A visit to Plaster Rock will have you marvelling at our clear rivers and lakes, abundance of wildlife and breathtaking scenery. Plaster Rock is the home of the World’s Largest Fiddleheads Sculpture! Later in June the annual "Fiddles on the Tobique" event combines 2 time-honoured New Brunswick traditions: fiddling and canoeing. Imagine the beautiful sight and sound of a flotilla of canoes carrying almost 200 musicians down the Tobique River while they play old-time fiddle music. It all started with a lone fiddler years ago, and today attracts people from all over the world. Quite possibly the only event of its kind anywhere!Spring, summer and fall also offer a variety of hunting and fishing opportunities, including a spring Black-bear hunt and fishing for native brook trout and Atlantic salmon. Head out to nearby Mount Carleton and hike to the highest point in New Brunswick!Winter on the Tobique is a celebration of ice and snow. Our famous World Pond Hockey Championship brings together 120 men's teams from and 10 women's teams around the world to compete on an outdoor rink, on a frozen lake. The event draws the attention of North American print and television media since nothing like this exists anywhere else in the world! Miles of groomed trails are available for snowmobilers. Some of the finest groomed cross-country ski trails in New Brunswick can be found here, and snowshoeing, sledding and other skiing opportunities abound.Regardless of the season, Plaster Rock has much to offer… come visit us soon!
