Riverfront Park

5 km (3 mi.) of multi-use trails along the Petitcodiac River. Ideal for cycling, inline skating, walking and running. Located downtown, this Moncton trail section of the Trans Canada Trail connects to the riverfront trail system in the neighbouring communities of Riverview and Dieppe. Portions of the trail are cleared for winter running and walking. One of the most relaxing areas in town, this a great place to observe the tides of the Petitcodiac River.

Riverside Park

Surrounded by the picturesque scenery of Riverside Park—complete with a large gazebo, stone walkways, lamp-post lighting, granite benches, trees, flower beds, and a scenic view of the Saint John River—relaxation comes naturally. A nature trail provides access to the Sentier NB Trail and the lower Shiktehawk Stream. Pack a picnic and stay for the day! The park hosts Outdoor Markets from July to September and the Tuesday summer music series. Come winter, our Potato Barrel Tree shines brightly!

Rusagonis River No. 2 Covered Bridge (Owens, Patrick)

Built in 1909, this covered bridge is 72 m (236 ft.) in length. Driving directions: Route 2, Exit 297, Nevers Road South 2.5 km (1.5 mi.), Route 655 West 5.3 km (3.3 mi.), turn left onto Wilsey Road.

Sackville Farmers Market

Come for groceries, stay for brunch! The market takes place on Saturdays 9 to 12 from May to October at the Bill Johnstone Memorial Park (70 Main St.), and during cold months at The Sackville Commons Co-op (18 Lorne St.), right in the heart of Sackville.

Sackville Golf & Country Club

9 holes with daily green fees and dress code, clubhouse, liquor licence, lockers, putting green, golf carts and club rental. Non-members are welcome and green fee and power cart pricing are posted on the Sackville Golf and Country Club website. The Club does not take reservations and guests usually have no issues getting out of their cars and on the course. Call ahead if need be.

Sackville to Cape Tormentine Trail - Trans-Canada Trail

This trail is built on an abandoned railway and is locally known in Sackville as the Tantramar Trail. It runs through old Acadian dyke lands, young lush woodlands and inland freshwater swamps to the scenic salt marshes in Port Elgin on Baie Verte. From Port Elgin the trail is rough for about 12 km (7.5 mi.) until you get close to Cape Tormentine. Trail Type:Walking, biking, snowmobiling Level:Easy with rough spotsLength:52 km (32 mi.)

Sackville Waterfowl Park

Winner of Environment Canada's National Award for Environmental Achievement Discover a wetland world beneath your feet! Focus your camera on the fuzzy ducklings, listen to a sunset chorus of marsh birds. The entertainment never stops at the Waterfowl Park! Admission is free. Guided tours offered mid-May to late August. Over 3 km (1.9 mi.) of winding boardwalks, trails, and viewing platforms. More than 150 species of birds and 200 species of plants have been recorded here.

Saint John Arts Centre

The Saint John Arts Centre is a community arts facility dedicated to promoting arts and culture through touring and local exhibitions of fine arts and crafts. The centre hosts live performances, lectures, workshops and cultural events. The centre has 5 galleries, which change exhibits every 6 to 8 weeks. A mini-theatre, workshop rooms, pottery and printmaking studios, and meeting rooms are also on site. It is housed in the historic Carnegie building in Saint John.
