AX: The Arts and Culture Centre of Sussex

AX, the Arts and Culture Centre of Sussex, offers a diverse range of art exhibitions and cultural activities in a restored historic building in the heart of Sussex. The centre boasts a ceramics studio and professional gallery, art studios for rent, and offers workshops and activities in visual arts, fine craft, music and literary arts. There's also a licensed restaurant onsite called Knocks Cafe, which features local food and beverages, and a lively outdoor patio.

Sussex is known as the Mural Capital of Atlantic Canada, Gateway to Fundy National Park and Fundy Trail Provincial Park, and many covered bridges and lighthouses just minutes away. The campground is adjacent to the Sussex Drive-In.

Sussex Ale Works

Sussex Craft Distillery

Sussex Craft Distillery produces small-batch spirits using high-quality, locally sourced New Brunswick ingredients. Their signature product, Northern Comfort, is a maple rum liqueur made with molasses from Crosby’s Molasses in Saint John and Steeves’ maple syrup from Elgin. The rum is aged with a blend of spices and roasted sugar maple hardwood from the Acadian Forest region of southern New Brunswick. Stop by their shop to explore a wide selection, and enjoy their backyard bar during the summer months.

Sussex Drive-In

The Sussex Drive-In is a historical and cultural turning point for the area dating back to 1967. With its 24 m (80 ft.) high screen and 300 car capacity, it makes for a unique experience to watch the movies and/or live events from the comfort of your car. Featuring blockbuster releases and live events throughout the summer, this is an activity that you don't want to miss!

Sussex Nature Walkway

A self-guided, 5-km (3-mi.) walking trail that runs along Trout Creek, through wooded areas and by three Ducks Unlimited ponds and the Sussex Bark Park. A great opportunity to get close to nature.

Located in downtown Sussex, our large, private and quiet 3-bedroom suite is furnished and equipped with full kitchen, bath, work station, television and in-suite laundry. Utilities and WiFi (high-speed Fiber-Op) are also included. 8th Hussars Museum

The 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise) is Canada's oldest cavalry/armoured regiment, continuously serving Canada from 1848 to the present day. Camp Sussex is one of the oldest permanent military camps in Canada, formed in 1875 and still in use today. This museum acquires, displays and preserves the 8th Hussars artifacts and memorabilia as well as those of the many regiments to train in Camp Sussex, including the New Brunswick Rangers, the Carleton York Regiment, the North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment and local citizens who have contributed to the defense of Canada over the years.

Legacy Lane Fiber Mill Yarn and Gift Shop

Legacy Lane Fiber Mill, the only processing facility of its kind in New Brunswick, is a custom fiber processing mill in Sussex, NB. Manufacturing yarn, insoles, dryer balls and many knitted and woven goods, Legacy Lane specializes in alpaca fiber processing. Visit their Yarn and Gift Shop on Main Street in Sussex, where you will find their products and beautiful textile art items.

Adair's Wilderness Lodge

Located in the wilderness of the Bay of Fundy region between the village of St. Martins, Fundy National Park and the town of Sussex. Trout Creek No. 5 Covered Bridge (Moores Mills)

Built in 1923, this covered bridge is 18 m (59 ft.) in length. Driving directions: Route 1, Exit 198, Route 111 South 4.2 km (2.6 mi.), Dutch Valley Road - Waterford Road - 8 km (5 mi.), onto Drummond Road, near Sussex Corner.

Trout Creek No. 4 Covered Bridge (Urney)

Built in 1905, this covered bridge is 20 m (66 ft.) in length. Driving directions: Route 1, Exit 198, Route 111 South 4.2 km (2.6 mi.), Dutch Valley Road - Waterford Road - 5.5 km (3.4 mi.), onto Urney Road, near Sussex Corner.

Poley Mountain Resorts

All Done RV Camping (for the Empty Nesters)

Empty Nester Park in Smiths Creek, 15 km (9 mi.) from Sussex. Open April to November. ATV and Pets, all sites are 3-way, 30-amp with a fire pit. Enjoy our scenic lazy river with its iconic covered bridges; see bald eagles, deer, turtles and many bird species. An on-site office with large deck, laundry facility and community room to use Wi-Fi, movies, books, wood stove and necessities for sale. Participate or watch games, planned events and activities.

Kennebecasis River No. 9 Covered Bridge (Plumweseep)

Bridge built in 1911 located near Sussex in Plumweseep, which means “Salmon River” in Wolastoqey (Maliseet) language. Length: 22.5m (74') Directions: Route 1, Exit 198, Route 114 north for 1.5 km (0.9 mi.). Turn left on to Plumweseep Road.
