Killarney Lake Park

This picturesque park has supervised freshwater swimming, a sandy beach, washrooms and change rooms. It features approximately 30 km (18.6 mi.) of walking trails around the lake with connections to additional trails. In the winter months there are approximately 12.5 km (8 mi.) of groomed trails perfect for cross-country skiing and lots of open space for hiking or snowshoeing. Killarney Lake Rotary Centennial Lodge is situated across the lake from the beach area. It can accommodate group meetings, weddings and receptions.

Established in 1978, the Pointe-du-Chêne Yacht Club “PCYC” is located in Shediac, New Brunswick, on the western side of the Northumberland Strait and within walking distance of several restaurants, boutiques, and attractions such as the well-known Parlee Beach. Vessels are enclosed in a marina setting and we offer convenient, affordable berthing from May until October. The yacht club is operated by a manager and guided by an elected board of directors. PROVINCIAL HERITAGE PLACE Middle Island, on the Miramichi River, was a quarantine station in the 19th century, specifically for Irish immigrants fleeing the Irish Potato Famine. Many perished while on the Island. In 1873 it was declared a permanent quarantine station by the Federal Government until 1948. Immerse yourself in the history while walking along sandy beaches and scenic trails; visit the Celtic Cross, Interpretive Centre, amphitheatre, picnic areas and interpretive panels.

The Saint John Arts Centre is a community arts facility dedicated to promoting arts and culture through touring and local exhibitions of fine arts and crafts. The centre hosts live performances, lectures, workshops and cultural events. The centre has 5 galleries, which change exhibits every 6 to 8 weeks. A mini-theatre, workshop rooms, pottery and printmaking studios, and meeting rooms are also on site. It is housed in the historic Carnegie building in Saint John.

Irishtown Nature Park offers kilometres of maintained trails. Interpretive signage showcasing the park as the city's first water supply is installed along a multi-use trail accessible for walkers, joggers, wheelchairs and cycling. Trails are groomed for walking in the winter. The park's trails are also excellent for bird watching. A feeding station maintained year-round attracts many species: chickadees, nuthatches, yellow finches, purple finches, hairy and downy woodpeckers, and doves.
