This 1870 lighthouse stands on a point with a panoramic view of Chaleur Bay. Originally called the Bon Ami Point Light, it was converted to a range light in 1972 and is still active. The original wooden, salt-shaker tower has a unique ‘birdcage' lantern. It's a perfect spot for birdwatching and it's also just 100 m (328 ft.) from beautiful Inch Arran Park, where you'll find a sandy beach, campground, food, gift shop and a Visitor Information Centre. Le Prospecteur hiking trails – Edmundston

More than 10 km (6.2 mi.) of trails will take you through breathtaking scenery in the steps of Madawaska County's best known gold-digger, Mr. Robert (Bob) Leboeuf! For many years, this colourful Edmundston personality searched for gold on the mountain's western slope, in what is now known as "Bob Leboeuf's Mine." Old Sow Whirlpool

The largest tidal whirlpool in the western hemisphere peaks during the new- and full-moon phases. Can be seen three hours prior to high tide from Deer Island Point Park. Enjoy the toll-free ferry ride over to Deer Island and experience a little taste of the Bay of Fundy on your way when you view the Old Sow! Driving directions: Route 1, Exit 56, onto Route 172 to Letete. Take the toll-free ferry to Deer Island onto Route 772.

Edmundston Visitor Information Centre

Located in an old CP railway station built in 1930, the building was completely renovated in 2005. The centre is located next to a cycling trail connecting the city of Edmundston, New Brunswick, to Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec and near the popular pedestrian bridge that crosses the Madawaska River, leading to the downtown area. The centre also offers a souvenir shop, picnic tables, a playground and a dog park nearby.

Old Portage Island Lighthouse

Lighthouse built in 1869 on Portage Island, at the entrance of the Miramichi River. It was acquired by the New Brunswick Aquarium and Marine Centre in 1986, dismounted piece-by-piece, then transported by boat and roads to Shippagan. Twelve-and-a-half m (43 ft.) in height, it stands four floors high, three floors of which are wood, with a cast-iron cupola. According to historic documents, it had keepers until 1960: George Davidson, Hugh Murray, Duncan Robertson, James Stymest, Peter Morrison, Jr., J.W. Gratton, Thomas LeBreton and Venance Savoy.
