Our service is the link that makes the loop complete. "The Old Sow," the largest tidal whirlpool in North America, can be seen from Deer Island Point Park, near our ferry landing. After Labour Day our schedule depends on weather and traffic volume. You might want to call ahead if travelling during this period.

Coastal Transport Limited provides daily, no charge ferry rides to Deer Island from Letete. During the summer, seasonal ferries connect Deer Island with New Brunswick's Campobello Island.

This Canadian Heritage River marks the international boundary between New Brunswick and the State of Maine in the USA. The Peskotomuhkati Nation and other First Peoples have lived along the river for more than 4000 years.

Head Harbour Lightstation (East Quoddy Head Lightstation)

If you want to visit the second-oldest lighthouse in the province, you'll have to wait for low tide. Head Harbour Island is accessible only by foot, so check the tidal schedule before setting out! The lighthouse was built in 1829 as a means of helping ships in the area navigate the famous Bay of Fundy fog, high tides, and the treacherous rocks surrounding Campobello Island. The original octagonal, wooden tower is still in use, and although the light still shines into the bay, it is no longer staffed.

Explore the natural and geological features found in the preserve and along the 2 km (1.2 mi) stretch of coastline. Feel free to cross to the Pea Point Lighthouse (first lit in 1878) on Pea Island during low tide, but keep your eye on the tides to avoid getting stuck!

Dobson Trail (Riverview to Alma)

The Dobson Trail is a footpath that starts on Pine Glen Road in the town of Riverview and continues through the Albert County Caledonia Highlands to the eastern boundary of Fundy National Park. The first 2 km (1.25 mi.) of the trail bed are maintained to Park standards and are wheelchair accessible. The initial section also has a guide wire for the visually challenged. The remaining section is maintained to Appalachian Trail Standards. The trail can be hiked in 3 days and is used in all seasons by hikers, snowshoers and backcountry skiers.
