Oromocto Visitor Information & Interpretive Centre

Located at exits 303 and 301 of the Trans-Canada Highway, the Oromocto Visitor Information; Interpretive Centre is a great location to stop for a rest. Visitors can enjoy various restaurants nearby or take advantage of our many picnic tables on site. Our staff are ready to welcome you to our beautiful town, and can help you plan your trip. Visitors can also take a relaxing walk around the wheelchair accessible Gateway Nature trail that surrounds the Visitor Information Centre.

Camping Héron Bleu Campground

The Blue Heron Campground (Camping Héron bleu) stands out with its large green spaces and the size of its sites by Chaleur Bay. A 2-minute walk away, you have access to the beach and a boat launch for your marine activities. Our campground has everything to make your vacation unforgettable: Jumpaï acrobatic trampoline unique in New Brunswick, giant foam slide, 2 heated pools, remote-controlled tank track, mini-putt, bike park, children's playground, dog park, and many activities.

Lavoie Maple Sugar House

Established five generations ago, this 50-acre family-operated maple grove is located 400 metres above sea level in the Appalachian Mountains in north-western New Brunswick. This location is ideal for the growth of sugar maples and for the harvesting of a sap of superior quality. Its long boiling time at low heat over a wood fire provides unique and refined flavours that are sought after by connoisseurs.

Fort Hughes Military Blockhouse

A replica of the original Fort Hughes, named in honour of the Lieutenant-Governor of Nova Scotia, Sir Richard Hughes. Built by British soldiers as a show of strength and to lend protection to the early settlers during the American Revolutionary War. The invasion never took place and the fort was razed. It was rebuilt during the War of 1812.

North Side Maple Grove / Érabliere du Versant Nord

Everyone is welcome to come and snowshoe with their family in the sugar bush during the winter months. There is a place inside and outside to build a fire and warm up. During the sugaring season, people are invited to visit while we boil the sap harvested.
