Doaktown

The village of Doaktown's Municipal Office is located in the heart of the Miramichi, along the Miramichi River. The famous Miramichi River is one of the most productive salmon rivers in the world, in both past and present day. Not only is the Southwest Miramichi River among the top 10 cleanest rivers in the world, it is home to the elusive Atlantic salmon that has tempted the skill of men for centuries. Doaktown's history is both colourful and diverse, changing with time and industry.

Hillsborough (Fundy-Albert)

Home of the NB Railway Museum and the Honourable William Henry Steeves House Museum. Enjoy the wetlands park; walking trails and mountain biking trails. Stop and shop in the Artisan Village which features local crafters selling their wares - you can't miss the brightly coloured buildings by the Visitor Information Centre on Main Street.

Mac's Beach

At the eastern end of this picturesque village is the beautiful Mac’s Beach, an unsupervised beach with food services available. At low tide you can explore the famous St. Martins sea caves, visual evidence of the tremendous power of the Fundy tides. Carved into the rugged, red sand cliffs, you’ll have about two hours to wander through them on either side of low tide.

Sainte-Anne-de-Beaumont Chapel

PROVINCIAL HERITAGE PLACESituated on the bank of the Petitcodiac River, this small chapel served the Aboriginal and Acadian people of Beaumont Cape, beginning in 1842.

The Village of Gagetown Farmers Market is a small, waterfront, open air market operating seasonally on Sundays from 11am to 3pm. It provides locals and visitors a mixture of locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables, breads and baking, preserves and herbs, hot BBQ, local art, handmade jewelery, soaps, and more! And all within walking distance of the marina, shops, and restaurants.

St. Martins

Once a shipbuilding centre, this gateway to the Fundy Trail Provincial Park is famous for its red cliffs, echo caves and birdwatching activities. This is a lovely seaside community whose daily rhythms are guided by the rising and falling of the World's Highest Tides. At high water, the colourful fishing boats bob in the water in the village harbour. Once the tide recedes, those same boats sit in the mud on the ocean floor! The harbour is tremendously photogenic. It's encircled by two covered bridges, a lighthouse and public gardens.

Queens County Court House Museum

PROVINCIAL HERITAGE PLACE From First Nations to the present, Queens County is a microcosm of the provincial and national experience - First Nations, Acadians, Loyalists, European migration, Confederation, Great Depression and the World Wars – we were there. Of surviving early court houses in New Brunswick, the Queens County Court House is one of the oldest, dating from 1836.

Richibucto (Beaurivage)

Dine on fresh lobster or scallops; enjoy a world famous sticky bun or a pint of local craft beer; hike, kayak or canoe in nearby Fundy National Park. Chipman (Grand Lake)

Located on the banks of the Salmon River, at the head of Grand Lake, the largest freshwater lake in the Maritime Provinces, explore the peaceful rural beauty of Chipman. Lots of outdoor fun with fishing, boating, snowmobiling and camping. Visit Chipman by boating to our Marina; travel the Saint John River system to Grand Lake and Salmon River. On your way along Salmon River to Chipman Marina, watch for ospreys, Bald eagles and several species of ducks nesting along the river. Tie up at the Chipman Marina Wharf as your home base for jet skiing, waterskiing, sailing and windsurfing.

Captains Lookout Cottages

Six rustic pine cottages high on a hilltop overlooking the Bay of Fundy. Adorable one- and two-bedroom cabins with cathedral ceilings and all the comforts of home. Enjoy panoramic views of the bay, beautiful sunrises from your own deck and peaceful, quiet beaches. Kilometres (miles) of coastline are just a 10-minute walk from the cottages, and a mixed freshwater/saltwater lake is a short hike from the backyard. Captain's Lookout Cottages are close to Fundy National Park, the village of Alma, Cape Enrage and The Hopewell Rocks.

Swallowtail Lightstation

As you approach Grand Manan Island by ferry, Swallowtail Lightstation greets you. The wonderful panoramic view of the coastline coupled with this historic, old wooden lighthouse makes it a perfect setting for photographers, artists and sightseers. This is a definite "must-see"!
