Monument for Recognition in the 21st century (MR21)

MR21 is an interpretation centre located in Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption cathedral in Moncton, Canada's only digital cathedral. Run by a secular non-profit organization, its original content will interest those wishing to discover this New Brunswick heritage gem and learn about a less-known aspect of Acadian history. The centre's scenography makes use of cutting-edge technology that offers visitors an experience of total, emotional and autonomous immersion. Restigouche Gallery

The region's largest art gallery, also a cultural centre, offers a wide range of regional and national exhibits, workshops, art classes, special events including a fine craft show, and more. Its permanent display, on the Athol House site, tells the exciting story of the Mi'gmaq, French, Acadian and Scottish heritage of the Restigouche region. Two boutiques showcase unique items fashioned by regional and New Brunswick artisans.

Caughey-Taylor Nature Preserve (Sam Orr Pond)

Located close to the famous resort town of St. Andrews by-the-Sea, the Caughey-Taylor Nature Preserve protects approximately 243 ha (600 acres) of biologically rich and diverse coastal habitat. Explore the trails around the brackish Sam Orr Pond, hike Chickahominy Mountain to the Rhyolite outcrop (a dramatic scenic look-off), travel through the enchanted forest to experience the peaceful serenity of an Acadian coastal forest, take the scenic trail to Passamaquoddy Bay, and watch the tide roll into one of many saltwater marshes.

Camping Municipal Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphaël

Camping on the edge of the saltwater beach, accessible by a boardwalk. One of the places where you can admire the most beautiful sunsets on the Acadian Peninsula. The campground is located next to the wharf, where lobster fisherman dock. Playground for children, gazebo with picnic tables, washroom facilities (restrooms and showers). Striped bass fishing in season. Total of sites : 16 (with and without service)

Grand Bay-Westfield

Located in southwestern New Brunswick along the beautiful Saint John River, you will find the town of Grand Bay-Westfield, the result of the two, originally separate, villages being officially merged in 1998. A growing community, Grand Bay-Westfield is the gateway to the Lower St. John River Valley. The town also has a ferry landing at the end of Ferry Road where the cable ferry connects Grand Bay-Westfield with the community of Hardings Point, across the river on the Kingston Peninsula. A campground and public beach can be found in these locations, near the ferry landings.

Marcia Poirier Shell Carver Studio and Boutique

If you're looking for that truly unique gift or souvenir, then a stop at the small artist's studio at Marcia Poirier Shell Carver is a must. Owned by Acadian Artisan Marcia Poirier close to 20 years, she transforms the unremarkable shell of the Quahog clam into miniature works of wearable art and creations that have earned her well-deserved recognition. Each piece is a uniquely handcrafted work of art. Visitors can watch the creative process unfold and speak with the artist.

Grande-Anse Beach

Unsupervised saltwater beach sheltered between wave-sculpted rock formations. Change houses, washrooms, parking, food service and picnic area. Also has a children's play area, volleyball court and access ramp from the elevated parking area down to a sandy beach. Close to accommodation and the Village Historique Acadien.

Stop at the Visitor Information Centre on Miscou Island, on the Acadian Coastal Drive, to receive a variety of FREE services that will enhance your travel experience, such as:Travel assistance and itinerary planning Information about events, attractions and festivalsThe Visitor Information Centre has a small gift and souvenir shop, public rest rooms and offers photocopy services. It's also a great location to try clam digging!

Paquetville (Hautes-Terres)

The village of Paquetville, birthplace of singer/songwriter, Édith Butler, is situated inland and is surrounded by the Caraquet and Pokemouche rivers, which are well known to sport-fishing enthusiasts. The stately Saint-Augustin church, atop Du Parc street, is one of the largest stone churches in the Maritimes. Paquetville is known for its restaurants, stores and maple products. During maple season, don't miss the Paquetville Maple Carnival.

Port Elgin Nature Trails

Nature enthusiasts take note: a network of over 70 km (43 mi.) of walking and hiking trails come together in this lovely heritage community. Set out near the village footbridge, travelling along the Gaspereau River and the adjacent marsh. Follow the dirt and grass pathways, over elevated boardwalks, to the Fort Gaspareaux National Site. The Gaspereaux Heritage Trail complements the Trans-Canada Trail to tell the story of this region and its unique natural environment.

Kite Académie René Jobin

Professional and personalized kitesurfing and wingfoil lessons by René Jobin on the island of Lamèque, in the Acadian Peninsula. This sport that can be practiced all year round on both water and snow. René has an IKO level 2 instructor diploma and been in the kite teaching field for over 20 years.
