Atlantic Canadians in the American Civil War

Nearly 5000 Atlantic Canadians took part in the American Civil War (1861-65) a conflict that had a profound effect on how and when Canada became an independent country. In this FREE presentation taking place on Wednesday, October 11 at 2pm, Civil War historian Troy Middleton will speak about the many heroes, villains and ordinary men and women from the Maritime colonies of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland who volunteered to serve in the war.
