Daly Point Nature Reserve

Daly Point Nature Reserve, located just northeast of the Bathurst Harbour on Carron Drive, is a naturalist's dream and birdwatcher paradise. It boasts some 100 acres (40.5 hectares) of pristine salt marsh, wooded plots and an extensive network of trails leading visitors through fields and various forest stands. One can view hundreds of species of flowers, plants and animals. Special attractions include the thousands of Canada Geese who arrive on their migratory voyage in the fall, and the rare Maritime Ringlet Butterfly found only in ten saltmarshes in the world.

Located next to the Restigouche River in Campbellton, the BandB is just 2 minutes from downtown and open year-round. It has 4 nicely decorated bedrooms; 3 with queen beds and 1 with double beds. Cots are available upon request. Two bathrooms with showers are provided for guests. A one-bedroom loft is also available for rentals of 2 days or longer. The loft features a sitting room, kitchen and bathroom.

Darlings Island Covered Bridge

Built in 1914, this covered bridge is 42 m (137 ft.) in length. Driving directions: Route 1, Exit 141, Route 119 1.7 km (1 mi.), Route 100 North 6.6 km (4 mi.), Station Loop Road 1.4 km (0.8 mi.), Darlings Island Road. (Not in service)

Built in 1910, this covered bridge is 18 m (60 ft.) in length. Driving directions: Route 1 at St. Stephen, Route 3 north for 4.2 km (2.6 mi.), on to Maxwell Crossing Road for 1.5 km (0.9 mi.), at Old Ridge, near St. Stephen.

Digdeguash River No. 3 Covered Bridge (McGuire)

Built in 1913, this covered bridge is 35 m (115 ft.) in length. Driving directions: Route 1 at Bethel, onto Route 760 North 14.8 km (9.2 mi.), near St. George.

Digdeguash River No. 4 Covered Bridge (McCann)

Built in 1938, this covered bridge is 26 m (86 ft.) in length. Driving directions: Route 1, Exit 25, Route 127 North 10.5 km (6.5 mi.), Route 770 East.

Digdeguash River No. 6 Covered Bridge (Dumbarton)

Built in 1928, this covered bridge is 23 m (76 ft.) in length. Driving directions: Route 1, Exit 25, Route 127 North 19.3 km (12 mi.), onto Tyron Road.

Dixon Point Lighthouse (Front Range)

This is one of the many fine lighthouses that dot the coastline and inland waterways of New Brunswick. The Dixon Point Lighthouse was built originally in 1881. It was replaced in 1919 with an attractive salt-shaker-style design. The front range is still active. This lighthouse stands on a very small footprint of land with a good view of the Bouctouche Dune Lighthouse, which is practically inaccessible, at the end of the Bouctouche Dune sandbar. Both are excellent examples of the fine craftsmanship of the era.
