Quaco Head Lighthouse

Every lighthouse you see has a special attraction all its own and the Quaco Head Lighthouse is no exception. It stands on a scenic point with an excellent view of St. Martins' beach and the Fundy Trail coastline. This 1855 tower was replaced in 1966 and altered a decade later with a concrete structure. It's the perfect spot for a picnic and birdwatching. The Quaco Museum has several lighthouse artifacts, including the Fresnel lens from the old structure. Driving directions: Route 111 to St. Martins, West Quaco Road, turn left on Lighthouse Road.

Long Eddy Point Lighthouse ("The Whistle")

This is one of the best places on Grand Manan to view whales, porpoises and seabirds as they feed in the rip tides below the cliffs. Bald eagles are also common in the area. Periwinkles and dulse are picked along the shores below the lighthouse, and visitors can watch lobster, scallop and herring fishing depending on the season.This lighthouse, known locally as "The Whistle," was originally established in 1873. The current square concrete building and tower was constructed in 1971.

Privately operated, toll ferries run between Deer Island and Campobello Island. Sail beautiful Passamaquoddy Bay, a unique corner of the Bay of Fundy. Join us for a day trip around the Quoddy Loop. Our service is the link that makes the loop complete. "The Old Sow," the largest tidal whirlpool in North America, can be seen from Deer Island Point Park, near our ferry landing. After Labour Day our schedule depends on weather and traffic volume. You might want to call ahead if travelling during this period.

Grand Manan Island - White Head Island Ferry

White Head Island is accessible several times a day from Grand Manan Island at Ingalls Head via the MV William Frankland Ferry. The crossing (approximately 20 minutes) is free of charge. The ferry carries 45 passengers and 9 cars. White Head Island is a quiet fishing community of approximately 180 residents, mainly fishermen and their families. The 6-km (4-mi.) road goes around two-thirds of the island. A lighthouse, a sandy beach and a rocky coast can be found on the "back" of the island. This is an excellent location for birdwatching, hiking, biking and touring.
