Blacks Harbour (Eastern Charlotte)

Our small, friendly fishing village is perfectly positioned on the world-famous tidal waters of the Bay of Fundy. With a population of just under 1000, our strong sense of community is readily evident to visitors to the area… everyone knows your name! The nutrient-rich waters of the Bay of Fundy have made Blacks Harbour the proud home to several of the most prominent, branded seafood companies in North America, including Connors Bros., Clover Leaf Seafoods Company and Cooke Aquaculture, voted one of the Top 50 Best Managed Companies in Canada.

Cape Enrage

The Bay of Fundy is one of the Marine Wonders of the World with tides rising as much as 16.3 m (53 vertical feet) over a 12-hour period twice each day. Cape Enrage offers one of the most spectacular views of the natural phenomenon from its towering cliffs and has been a light station and fog alarm since 1838. We are proudly part of the Fundy Biosphere Reserve and the Fundy Coastal Drive Experience. Along with its natural beauty, Cape Enrage also offers family-friendly adventures!

Belding's Reef Nature Preserve

Located west of Saint John and within the fishing community of Chance Harbour, the Belding’s Reef Nature Preserve covers a portion of a peninsula on the Bay of Fundy. This nature preserve can be explored by way of an easy, 0.9 km (0.6 mi) hiking trail, which follows the rocky coastline to a navigational light, offering spectacular views of the Bay of Fundy along the way. While the preserve’s main ecological feature is its rugged, undeveloped coastline, with shale and sandstone cliffs, ledges and reefs, it also offers the opportunity to explore a mature, mixed coastal forest.

City of Saint John

URBAN DELIGHTS ON THE MAGNIFICENT BAY OF FUNDYSaint John, Canada's oldest incorporated city, is also the only city on the beautiful Bay of Fundy. There is simply no other place in the Maritimes where the urban charms of a vibrant, historic city nestle up against the grand, natural allure of this world-famous bay.The delightful port architecture makes a perfect backdrop to stroll along Market Square, watching the cruise ships dock at the harbour and taking in the fine restaurants, galleries and shops along the way.

Florentine Manor

The line-dried sheets and quietness of the night gives you a cozy feeling as the breeze blows in from the Bay of Fundy. Mary has welcomed guests since 1983 to her New England-style inn near Riverside-Albert, on the Bay of Fundy. Nearby are New Brunswick's world famous Hopewell Rocks, Fundy National Park, Mary's Point beach, Shipyard Park, Crooked Creek lookout, Albert County Museum and the scenic Fundy Trail Provincial Park.

Cape Enrage Nature Preserve

A best kept birder's delight along the Bay of Fundy, the Cape Enrage Nature Preserve is a little over an hour's drive outside of Moncton and a sure stop to make on your way to Fundy National Park. With a saltwater marsh known as a migratory bird staging, feeding, and resting area, it offers breathtaking views of the Bay of Fundy, which can be accessed by a public cobblestone beach. Blacks Harbour - Grand Manan Ferry

Join us today and experience our daily sailings to Grand Manan Island. Coastal Transport Limited is pleased to offer several daily trips from Blacks Harbour (Route 176) to Grand Manan Island, where visitors can experience all that the Bay of Fundy has to offer. Passengers can watch fishing boats at work or just relax and watch the beautiful blue Fundy waters. The Bay of Fundy is home to the summer migration routes of the Humpback, Minke, Finback, and the extremely rare Right whales. Whales and porpoises are regularly seen from the deck of our ferries. Saint Croix Island

INTERNATIONAL HISTORIC SITE In 1604, Pierre Dugua (sieur de Mons) chose Saint Croix Island for settlement, an event that symbolizes the founding of 'Acadie.' Because of the island's isolation and the unusually harsh winter, nearly half of the colonists succumbed to scurvy. The following year, de Mons relocated his colony across the Bay of Fundy to Port Royal in Nova Scotia.

Riverside-Albert

Situated on the Shepody River, this quaint cultural community is ideally located for nature lovers and travellers looking to explore the upper Bay of Fundy and its numerous attractions. Fundy National Park, The Hopewell Rocks, Mary's Point Shorebird Interpretation Centre and Cape Enrage are all within a 20 minute drive from the village. Each season brings with it a variety of unique activities, making it an optimal location for year-round enjoyment.

Reversing Falls Rapids

A unique phenomenon created by the collision of the Bay of Fundy and the Saint John River. At low tide the river empties into the bay causing a series of rapids and whirlpools. As tides rise they slow the river current for a brief period called slack tide. The Bay's tides continue to rise, gradually reversing the flow of the river; rapids form again, peaking at high tide. A 8.5-metre (28-foot) tide cycle is roughly 12.5 hours.

Hole-in-the-Wall

The Hole in the Wall rock arch is a landmark attraction carved by the magnificent Bay of Fundy. Visit this privately owned hiking park to see the arch, along with hiking trails and viewing decks that overlook herring weirs and offer unmatched views of the Bay of Fundy. Keep a lookout, because there’s always the possibility of a whale sighting! A special treat for children is the Discovery Trail, a 10-minute walk to the rock arch where keen eyes can spot objects waiting to be discovered.

Amongst many not-to-be-missed places are the Chaleur Bay salt marshes.

Falcon Ridge Inn B&B

Vista Ridge cottages are located in the village of Alma, adjacent to Fundy National Park. Our cottages overlook the mighty tides of the Bay of Fundy and are open year round. The cottages are pet friendly and feature three separate bedrooms, full kitchen and bath, electric fire place, satellite television, wireless Internet and private campfire pits. Ideally situated, the cottages are within walking distance to village shops, restaurants and Alma Beach. Winter time offers skating at the outdoor rink as well as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on Fundy Park's groomed trails.

Seascape Kayak Tours

Immerse yourself in one of the richest marine ecosystems in the world. Paddling from our protected harbour on Deer Island, you're sure to see Bald eagles, Harbour seals, Harbour porpoise and whales. This area, known as a biodiversity hotspot, allows you to safely experience the flow of the tremendous Bay of Fundy tides. Seascape's kayak trips are designed to introduce paddlers of any experience level to the biodiversity of the Bay of Fundy's unique ocean ecosystem.

Cottage on the Beach

Cottage on the Beach is located on the Alma Beach with its own private access to the shore of the magnificent Bay of Fundy. It's an ideal location for watching shorebirds, Bald eagles and Peregrine falcons. Located only a short walk to the entrance of Fundy National Park of Canada, and 50 km (31 mi.) from the provincial landmark of The Hopewell Rocks at Hopewell Cape. You can sit in the solarium and enjoy the beautiful view of the fishing boats sailing by, bringing in their daily catch or enjoy the variety of sights that our famous 15-m (50-ft.) tides offer from the deck.

Captains Lookout Cottages

Six rustic pine cottages high on a hilltop overlooking the Bay of Fundy. Adorable one- and two-bedroom cabins with cathedral ceilings and all the comforts of home. Enjoy panoramic views of the bay, beautiful sunrises from your own deck and peaceful, quiet beaches. Kilometres (miles) of coastline are just a 10-minute walk from the cottages, and a mixed freshwater/saltwater lake is a short hike from the backyard. Captain's Lookout Cottages are close to Fundy National Park, the village of Alma, Cape Enrage and The Hopewell Rocks.

Tuddenham Farms

Tuddenham Farms is a family-operated, wild-blueberry farm and blueberry-wine producer located in Charlotte County. The farm was built in 1923 by Sanford Newell. The business was eventually expanded by his son, Carl. In the spirit of family tradition, Carl's daughter, Janet, and her husband, Fred, along with their 2 sons, Todd and Troy, operate the business today. With wild-blueberry fields throughout Charlotte County, the Tuddenhams offer the highest quality fresh, hand-cleaned and graded fresh and frozen blueberries.
