Belding's Reef Nature Preserve

Located west of Saint John and within the fishing community of Chance Harbour, the Belding’s Reef Nature Preserve covers a portion of a peninsula on the Bay of Fundy. This nature preserve can be explored by way of an easy, 0.9 km (0.6 mi) hiking trail, which follows the rocky coastline to a navigational light, offering spectacular views of the Bay of Fundy along the way. While the preserve’s main ecological feature is its rugged, undeveloped coastline, with shale and sandstone cliffs, ledges and reefs, it also offers the opportunity to explore a mature, mixed coastal forest.

Saint Croix Island

INTERNATIONAL HISTORIC SITE In 1604, Pierre Dugua (sieur de Mons) chose Saint Croix Island for settlement, an event that symbolizes the founding of 'Acadie.' Because of the island's isolation and the unusually harsh winter, nearly half of the colonists succumbed to scurvy. The following year, de Mons relocated his colony across the Bay of Fundy to Port Royal in Nova Scotia.

Cape Enrage Nature Preserve

A best kept birder's delight along the Bay of Fundy, the Cape Enrage Nature Preserve is a little over an hour's drive outside of Moncton and a sure stop to make on your way to Fundy National Park. With a saltwater marsh known as a migratory bird staging, feeding, and resting area, it offers breathtaking views of the Bay of Fundy, which can be accessed by a public cobblestone beach.

Located only a short walk to the entrance of Fundy National Park of Canada, and 50 km (31 mi.) from the provincial landmark of The Hopewell Rocks at Hopewell Cape. You can sit in the solarium and enjoy the beautiful view of the fishing boats sailing by, bringing in their daily catch or enjoy the variety of sights that our famous 15-m (50-ft.) tides offer from the deck.

Riverside-Albert

Situated on the Shepody River, this quaint cultural community is ideally located for nature lovers and travellers looking to explore the upper Bay of Fundy and its numerous attractions. Fundy National Park, The Hopewell Rocks, Mary's Point Shorebird Interpretation Centre and Cape Enrage are all within a 20 minute drive from the village. Each season brings with it a variety of unique activities, making it an optimal location for year-round enjoyment.

Reversing Falls Rapids

A unique phenomenon created by the collision of the Bay of Fundy and the Saint John River. At low tide the river empties into the bay causing a series of rapids and whirlpools. As tides rise they slow the river current for a brief period called slack tide. The Bay's tides continue to rise, gradually reversing the flow of the river; rapids form again, peaking at high tide. A 8.5-metre (28-foot) tide cycle is roughly 12.5 hours.

Letete - Deer Island Ferry

Deer Island, surrounded by the high tides of the Bay of Fundy and located at the mouth of Passamaquoddy Bay, sits about 4 km (3 mi.) from Letete, New Brunswick. Coastal Transport Limited provides daily, no charge ferry rides to Deer Island from Letete. During the summer, seasonal ferries connect Deer Island with New Brunswick's Campobello Island.

North Head Campground & Park

North Head Campground and Park — formerly Hole-in-the-Wall Park and Campground — is encompassed by 100 hectares of natural terrain unique to this coastal area of the Bay of Fundy (the Fundy Biosphere Reserve is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve).

Algonquin Golf Course

Situated along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean's Passamaquoddy Bay the 18 hole, 7,100 yard, par 72 Algonquin Golf Course has been redesigned by Canadian golf architect Rod Whitman. Whitman's redesign has accentuated the natural beauty of the Bay of Fundy, resculpting the course to optimize the golf experience and ocean views. Full-service clubhouse, pro-shop, golf carts, club rentals, showers, practice facility, short-game area, driving range, golf lessons, CPGA professionals. Open May through October.

This small family business that started with one hobby beehive has grown to provide the community with fresh, natural honey and beeswax products. Our apiary is located in the small fishing village of Back Bay, NB on the Bay of Fundy. Brettlynn Farms raises bees to service customers with pollination services, custom beehives, unpasteurized honey, and natural, handcrafted soap and skincare products.

Head Harbour Lightstation (East Quoddy Head Lightstation)

If you want to visit the second-oldest lighthouse in the province, you'll have to wait for low tide. Head Harbour Island is accessible only by foot, so check the tidal schedule before setting out! The lighthouse was built in 1829 as a means of helping ships in the area navigate the famous Bay of Fundy fog, high tides, and the treacherous rocks surrounding Campobello Island. The original octagonal, wooden tower is still in use, and although the light still shines into the bay, it is no longer staffed.
