Connors Bros. Nature Preserve at Pea Point

Located in the picturesque fishing village of Blacks Harbour near the Grand Manan Island ferry, Connors Bros. Nature Preserve at Pea Point is a beautiful example of the diversity and ecological significance linked to the world-famous Bay of Fundy tides. Explore the natural and geological features found in the preserve and along the 2 km (1.2 mi) stretch of coastline. Feel free to cross to the Pea Point Lighthouse (first lit in 1878) on Pea Island during low tide, but keep your eye on the tides to avoid getting stuck!

First Nations Storytellers provides authentic Indigenous experiences in Greater Saint John to help foster an understanding of Indigenous culture through storytelling through various activities.

Dobson Trail (Riverview to Alma)

The Dobson Trail is a footpath that starts on Pine Glen Road in the town of Riverview and continues through the Albert County Caledonia Highlands to the eastern boundary of Fundy National Park. The first 2 km (1.25 mi.) of the trail bed are maintained to Park standards and are wheelchair accessible. The initial section also has a guide wire for the visually challenged. The remaining section is maintained to Appalachian Trail Standards. The trail can be hiked in 3 days and is used in all seasons by hikers, snowshoers and backcountry skiers.

Johnson’s Mills Shorebird Reserve and Interpretive Centre

Johnson's Mills is a critical feeding and resting site for the shorebirds that fly through the Bay of Fundy on their fall migration. Approximately half of the world's population of semipalmated sandpipers feed on the mudflats during peak migration (mid August). The best time to see the birds is two hours before, to two hours after high tide. Managed by the Nature Conservancy of Canada, the Johnson's Mills Shorebird Interpretive Centre is located 8 km (5 mi.) from the Village of Dorchester.

Jolly Breeze Tall Ship and Zodiac Whale Adventures

Saint John Beaches

Saint John boasts several public beaches. The most popular include Rockwood Park, which has two supervised sandy freshwater beaches, playground and hiking trails. Little River Reservoir offers a supervised freshwater beach, playground and hiking trails. Dominion Park Beach is a supervised, freshwater, sandy swimming beach with playground, canteen, change houses, barbecue and picnic shelters. Mispec Beach, one of the finest unsupervised sandy beaches on the Bay of Fundy, offers visitors free parking, picnic sites, a playground and more.

Carleton Martello Tower National Historic Site

NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE **The martello tower is currently undergoing vital restoration work. Although visitors are not able to enter the tower during this time, we encourage them to explore and enjoy the grounds and the Visitor Centre.** Built for the War of 1812, this circular stone fort played a crucial role in the defence of Saint John and its harbour until 1944. The tower's unique architecture spans 130 years of coastal defence technology.

Grand Manan Beaches (Anchorage, Castalia Park, Dark Harbour, Deep Cove, North Head, Seal Cove)

Wherever you go on the island, there's sure to be a terrific beach nearby, where the words "crowded beach" is defined by the number of gulls and other seabirds on the beach that day. It's no wonder Reader's Digest voted Grand Manan Island as one of the World's 7 Best Small Islands ! Anchorage Beach is an unsupervised, sandy, saltwater beach where you can relax with the Bay of Fundy nipping at your toes. Do some beachcombing, see wildlife and check the nearby freshwater ponds – a great spot to cast your line for trout. Canoe or kayak as well.Castalia Park Beach is gravel and salt marsh.

Hole-in-the-Wall

The Hole in the Wall rock arch is a landmark attraction carved by the magnificent Bay of Fundy. Visit this privately owned hiking park to see the arch, along with hiking trails and viewing decks that overlook herring weirs and offer unmatched views. Keep a lookout, because there’s always the possibility of a whale sighting! A special treat for children is the Discovery Trail, a 10-minute walk to the rock arch where keen eyes can spot objects waiting to be discovered. Some points on the hiking trail have vehicle access. Albert County Clay Co.

Using Bay of Fundy clay, Judy Tait produces hand-built pottery in a 100-year-old community hall where you can see clay processes and a display of their handmade pottery products.

Herring Cove Provincial Park Golf Course

Tee up and swing away at Herring Cove Provincial Park's 9-hole golf course, overlooking the Bay of Fundy and Lake Glensevern. The course, designed by renowned golf course architect Geoffrey Cornish, is complete with a licensed restaurant, golf carts, showers, lockers, pro shop, putting green, and club rentals.

Irving Nature Park

Just minutes from the city of Saint John is an oasis of forest and marsh, beaches and trails. This attraction contains no less than six different ecosystems within the 243-ha (600- acre) site with a diversity of flora and fauna. There are 11 km (7 mi.) of rugged Bay of Fundy coastline. The park was created to protect this fragile area, yet allow the public to come and learn about it. Park staff members offer free guided tours. The geological history of this area is fascinating.

St. Martins Sea Caves

A popular place for rockhounds, birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts.The sandstone caves are carved by the Bay of Fundy tides. Curious spelunkers can explore the caves at their leisure, at low tide only.
