Ponderosa Pines Cottage

Private, leisurely accommodations in a natural setting surrounded by birch, pine and spruce trees overlooking a lake and the Bay of Fundy. The cottage is located only 1 km (0.6 mi.) from the Hopewell Rocks, and an easy drive from Fundy National Park, Village of Alma, Cape Enrage and the City of Moncton. Your adventures for kayaking, beaches, birdwatching, zip lining, rappelling and local seafood are just a scenic drive away. The cottage has a full kitchen, bathroom with shower, barbecue and fire pit. Swimming pool, playground and boat rentals. Free fishing for our guests.

Camping Lamèque - campground and cottages

After a busy day taking advantage of the many activities available in the beautiful Acadian Islands, you will enjoy Camping Lamèque’s atmosphere of relaxation and tranquility. Camping Lameque is not just a simple campground, it is a destination. There are activities on site, trails, a swimming pool, a beach as well as a centre for various sports such as stand-up paddle surfing, sea kayaking, and kitesurfing. Various social activities are organized for all groups of age throughout the summer season.

Saint-Hilaire (Haut-Madawaska)

Founded in 1869, Saint-Hilaire is one of the oldest parishes in the “Acadia of the Land and Forests” region. The village was named after Hilaire Cyr, who had donated the land to build the first Catholic church. The Saint-Hilaire rectory, beside the church, is now home to an art gallery. Saint-Hilaire and the surrounding area is a fertile ground for many great stories. Did you know that during the prohibition, Saint-Hilaire was one of the top places for smuggling alcohol? There transited the famous "Hand Brand", a strong liquor from the French islands of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.

Gagetown Ferry

Seasonal toll-free service operated by the provincial government between Gagetown and Scovil (Lower Jemseg). This cable ferry takes you on a short (less than 5 minutes) ride across the majestic Saint John River, linking the historical and artsy Village of Gagetown with prime birdwatching at Grand Lake Meadows Protected Natural Area, New Brunswick’s largest freshwater wetland.

Aroostook (Southern Victoria)

The Village of Aroostook was once an important railway centre for the transportation of wood and potatoes. The old railway station, located where the Aroostook Valley and New Brunswick railroads cross, still stands strong and is recognized as 1 of the region’s important historical sites. The International Appalachian Trail, a route cherished by backpacking enthusiasts, also crosses into Aroostook territory. The trail links the 3 highest peaks of the Appalachian Mountain chain: Mont Jacques-Cartier in Quebec, Mount Carleton in New Brunswick and Mount Katahdin in the state of Maine.

Two Islands, a Thousand Treasures

When visiting the Acadian peninsula, follow an itinerary that appeals to all fun-loving treasure-seekers. Just grab a map and venture on a discovery journey to find the treasures of Lamèque and Miscou islands. Set off on your adventure by car, bicycle or motorcycle. Along the way, you might get the chance to taste fresh seafood of the day, meet fishermen and locals and to see a whole lot more. Salty air, amazing views, birdwatching, unique churches and magnificent sandy beaches are all part of this beautiful region of Acadie.

Cape Enrage Beach

The Cape Enrage Fossil Beach is more than 7 km (4 mi.) long. It traces its way along the base of the 46-m (150-ft.) cliffs of Barn Marsh Island. It runs from the sandy shores of Barn Marsh Beach, which is just off Cape Enrage road, around the lighthouse point, across the ocean floor and out to Brae Beach, an ancient Acadian dyke. You can spend hours walking this tidal beach, hunting for fossils in the rock shale of this rough terrain. Make sure to check the tide table before venturing too far, and plan to be off the beach two hours before high tide.

Doaktown

The village of Doaktown's Municipal Office is located in the heart of the Miramichi, along the Miramichi River. The famous Miramichi River is one of the most productive salmon rivers in the world, in both past and present day. Not only is the Southwest Miramichi River among the top 10 cleanest rivers in the world, it is home to the elusive Atlantic salmon that has tempted the skill of men for centuries. Doaktown's history is both colourful and diverse, changing with time and industry.

A dynamic centre of creation, hosting, and staging of professional theatre, Théâtre populaire d'Acadie has offered a wide variety of programs for over 50 years. Although it focusses mainly on the creation of original Acadian works, this theatre group also offers contemporary and classical repertoire. In its years of existence, the company has produced and presented more than 130 plays for either the general public or young audiences.

Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre

SSANC is a registered not-for-profit community cultural center, situated in a historic building on the shores of Passamaquoddy Bay.

Beaver Harbour Archives & Museum

Visit the Beaver Harbour Archives and Museum to discover the history of Beaver Harbour and surrounding area. Learn how the village was settled in 1783 by the Quakers and the Empire Loyalists, and discover more about our local sardine history.Located in a former airport building from the Second World War, you can explore our collection of artifacts, read a book about the founding families from Beaver Harbour or view a film about the local factories in the area.

Pointe-Sapin Lighthouse (Rear Range)

This 1903 salt-shaker style lighthouse has a yellow navigation light. It is located on the Acadian Coastal Drive, 8 km (5 mi.) north of Kouchibouguac National Park of Canada, located on a very small parcel of land adjacent to residential properties. For your enjoyment, there is a beach across the road. There is limited parking. This lighthouse is operational and an active aid to navigation. It has a square white pyramidal shaped wooden tower with a red-square lantern and a red-vertical stripe on the corner facing the alignment.

And if we allowed ourselves to relax, while we enjoy the beautiful sunset... If you love nature's riches, the beach and magnificent sunsets on the sea, you will love our campground, nestled on the seaside in a quiet Acadian paradise. It is the perfect setting for a leisurely walk on the sandy beach, a splash in the warm water or a morning of birdwatching. The campground has superb sites, with full, partial or no services, as well as sites for semi-wilderness camping. Visitors can even rent a trailer or experience a stay in a fisherman's cabin.

Beresford (Belle-Baie)

Enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty of Chaleur Bay, internationally acclaimed as ‘One of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World.' Stroll the boardwalk along the beach with the blue of the sea and skies as far as the eye can see, or just relax in the sun and the salty air on one of our beaches and take in the scenery. Amongst many not-to-be-missed places are the Chaleur Bay salt marshes.

St. Martins

Once a shipbuilding centre, this gateway to the Fundy Trail Provincial Park is famous for its red cliffs, echo caves and birdwatching activities. This is a lovely seaside community whose daily rhythms are guided by the rising and falling of the World's Highest Tides. At high water, the colourful fishing boats bob in the water in the village harbour. Once the tide recedes, those same boats sit in the mud on the ocean floor! The harbour is tremendously photogenic. It's encircled by two covered bridges, a lighthouse and public gardens.
