Cape Enrage

The Bay of Fundy is one of the Marine Wonders of the World with tides rising as much as 16.3 m (53 vertical feet) over a 12-hour period twice each day. Cape Enrage offers one of the most spectacular views of the natural phenomenon from its towering cliffs and has been a light station and fog alarm since 1838. We are proudly part of the Fundy Biosphere Reserve and the Fundy Coastal Drive Experience. Along with its natural beauty, Cape Enrage also offers family-friendly adventures!

Herring Cove Provincial Park

This cottage is located within walking distance of the Alma wharf and the many wonderful restaurants and shops in town. Fundy National Park is only minutes away by car where you can hike, fish, swim, kayak, snowshoe, cross-country ski, and golf. ATV and snowmobile trails are also close by.

The Charlotte County Museum is a unique, semi-guided walk through the history of Charlotte County, New Brunswick. The museum's mission is to preserve and promote the rich history and heritage of Charlotte County through the exhibition of historically significant artifacts, photos and stories. Join us aboard for an unforgettable tour to see the whales of the bay with the province’s longest-operating boat tour, and the only one to guarantee whales sightings or your tour is free! Enjoy comfortable bench seating and room to get up and move around. Feel free to visit the wheelhouse and talk to the captain, and ask all your whale and bird questions to our knowledgeable guide. We also offer tours to Machias Seal Island to view puffins from the boat or from enclosed blinds on the island.

Reversing Falls Rapids

A unique phenomenon created by the collision of the Bay of Fundy and the Saint John River. At low tide the river empties into the bay causing a series of rapids and whirlpools. As tides rise they slow the river current for a brief period called slack tide. The Bay's tides continue to rise, gradually reversing the flow of the river; rapids form again, peaking at high tide. A 8.5-metre (28-foot) tide cycle is roughly 12.5 hours.

OutdoorsNB Kayak rental and Instruction

OutdoorsNB provides the perfect way to explore the natural beauty of the Nerepis watershed, just upstream of the rental location on the Saint John River at 54 Mallard Drive. Rent for 1.5 or 3 hours, all day or rent for offsite use. Join us here as well as at the West Isles Sea Kayak Symposium at Campobello Island in September.
