Johnson’s Mills Shorebird Reserve and Interpretive Centre

Johnson's Mills is a critical feeding and resting site for the shorebirds that fly through the Bay of Fundy on their fall migration. Approximately half of the world's population of semipalmated sandpipers feed on the mudflats during peak migration (mid August). The best time to see the birds is two hours before, to two hours after high tide. Managed by the Nature Conservancy of Canada, the Johnson's Mills Shorebird Interpretive Centre is located 8 km (5 mi.) from the Village of Dorchester.

Kahoutek Ski Club

The Kahoutek Ski Club maintains more than 20 km (12.5 mi.) of groomed cross-country ski trails open to club members and visitors. Trails allow for both classic and freestyle cross-country skiing. Snowshoers will also find several kilometres (miles) of trail for their enjoyment. All trails begin at the community centre located in the back of the E. and P. Sénéchal Center.

This 54,000-tap operation presents a video on the history of syrup making and has taffy-on-the-snow available. Maple syrup, jelly, lollypops, maple butter, granulated sugar, maple candy, maple-peanut spread, chocolate-covered candy and gift trays are available for purchase. Hours of operation can be extended by appointment and school tours are also available. All you-can-eat breakfasts are served in February, March, and April Monday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visit this architectural treasure and learn about the history of the place, tour exhibits and find quilts, crafts and various items available to purchase at the shop. You can even go up the convent tower to ring the bell.

There is a staffed clubhouse with equipment rentals (free rentals - covered by a donation to the club) for all ages, washrooms and a small canteen. A waxing form is available for use. Pioneer Village of Grande-Digue

This pioneers museum is a 6-building miniature village including a house from 1842, a replica of a chapel, a school (1870) featuring original benches and blackboards, a barn, a shed and a lighthouse. A 1835 church is located nearby. The museum features over 3,000 artifacts, including a mural painting of the Grande-Digue marsh in the 1800s. Wide open space, large parking lot, rest area, picnic tables, tourist bureau, WiFi and souvenir shops on site. Wheelchair accessible.

The Hardwicke Community Group at Myers develops and coordinates community activities at the Myers Community Centre, including showing the "Still Fishing - Beyond the Escuminac Disaster" documentary and a yearly memorial service for the Escuminac Disaster.
