Callanders overlooks the warm water of the lagoons and is a great place for a leisurely swim and a picnic lunch. Of course there's more to do than just swimming! Bring your binoculars and try to spot some of the 225 bird species in the area. You'll see osprey, eagles, geese, the endangered Piping plover and many more. Park interpreters welcome all comers to guided nature walks.

Admire the tallest lighthouse on the St. John River system and see oak trees over 100 years old. A multitude of birds can be viewed in the marsh in their natural habitat. Pets on a leash welcome; unsupervised pool, wheelchair-accessible toilets, indoor activity centre, waterfront property, trading post, washers, dryers, showers, flush toilets, plus water park (splash pad).

Dobson Trail (Riverview to Alma)

The Dobson Trail is a footpath that starts on Pine Glen Road in the town of Riverview and continues through the Albert County Caledonia Highlands to the eastern boundary of Fundy National Park. The first 2 km (1.25 mi.) of the trail bed are maintained to Park standards and are wheelchair accessible. The initial section also has a guide wire for the visually challenged. The remaining section is maintained to Appalachian Trail Standards. The trail can be hiked in 3 days and is used in all seasons by hikers, snowshoers and backcountry skiers.

Provincial Archives of New Brunswick

The Provincial Archives collects and preserves documents of the people, institutions and government of New Brunswick and makes these historical records available for public research. Holdings include textual and digital records, papers of families and individuals, maps, architectural plans, photos, sound recordings, film and video. Located on the University of New Brunswick campus, the Archives is housed in the Bonar Law-Bennett Building, of architectural interest for its Beaux Arts style and extensive use of bird's-eye maple.

St. Michael's Museum and Genealogical Centre

From here the administration of the entire Roman Catholic diocese in northern New Brunswick took place. First Episcopal residence in 1860 and first Hôtel-Dieu hospital in 1869. The Old Train Station Tourist Centre is a replica of the old train station of Saint-Quentin, built in 1920 and destroyed in the fall of 1983. While respecting the historic aspect of the original building, the infrastructure has modern commodities. The interior is impressive with the beauty and richness of wood finishing throughout the building. The decor and furnishings will take you back to the early 20th century. There you'll find a visitor information centre, various historical pieces, a souvenir shop, a Forestry, Agriculture and Maple Industry Interpretation Centre and a gallery.
